Again, it was much more stable and smoother, however it's still not as realistic to me as Heli-x. I did state that I've run real flight on my sons game pc natively in my first post. Another nice thing about it is that you can download a fully functional demo, (only 5 heli's 1 airport, and an occasional nag screen) If this SIm was as polished and had the models of Phoenix the others would go out of business. I have not been able to get it to work using the Phoenix dongle with my radio, but there may be other USB adapters out there. The main drawback to this sim is the lack of polished looking airports and curb appeal, however it makes up for it in mechanics and overall usability IMO. I've found that this has become my go to sim since its so stable and runs fast.

It is very fast and runs native in MAC, it is compatible with the real flight controller. It does lack a huge selection of "popular" heli's but it does have a few of the common ones and a good selection of "generic" models. The physics feel great, it's the closest IMO to the real thing and has some great training tools. It's not as cosmetically polished as the others, but WOW was I pleasantly surprised. Heli-X - this sim runs native on Mac, win, or Linux. To be fair I have installed on my sons game pc and it does run much more stable native, however it is a very bloated application and takes longer than the others to load. Once started it runs ok but it can be a bit frustrating in a VM. The controller disconnects a lot too, requiring several attempts to get it started. It runs like garbage in a VM, frame rate is barely tolerable in an XP VM, unusable in a win 7 VM, and it crashes a lot. I can do things in this sim that I can't do in reality. Real flight - looks good, more realistic physics and feel, but the heli's seem easier to fly than in real life. I feel like I'm going backwards and getting worse when I use this sim and the heli's are much harder to fly than in reality. It's not close IMO or I have not stumbled upon the right setup. I've tried editing the heli's and customizing various models to find something that is close to realistic feel of flying a real heli. However I think the physics are not realistic. The Frame rate running under a windows 7 VM is good, and the program loads fast. Using my radio for the controller is nice. Phoenix - this sim is the best looking, and has the most desire able collection of Heli's based on my limited experience. I thought I would start a thread to get others input on my observations for those of us who who have tried multiple sims or run on Mac. I don't run a bootcamp install, although I'm not opposed to it. Being a Mac user has led me to try them all to see what runs best under a VM or native, etc.
